Welcome to the website for the Toronto Area Chapter of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists! It is our goal to assist in the education of our membership, as well as providing networking opportunities for those in the industry. The Toronto Area Chapter works with talented members of the industry to provide relevant seminars to keep our membership abreast of upcoming issues.
The Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (CEBS) is a professional designation that offers certification choices in three distinct areas of specialization: Group Benefits (GBA); Retirement Plans (RPA); and Compensation Management (CMS). Dalhousie University is responsible for the academic standards of CEBS, while the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans is responsible for program administration. The university-based curriculum distinguishes CEBS from other designations in the benefits field. The CEBS program started in Canada in 1985, and currently, there are 5,147 designees.
